Brass Lessons Oliver is happy to offer individual brass lessons between 30 and 60 minutes in length, either in-person or online via Zoom or FaceTime.

Tuition is available on all brass (excluding the French Horn) and lessons are constructed with the pupil in mind. Work towards graded examinations, or simply learn at your own pace, playing the pieces you want!

Oliver is also happy to arrange pieces for pupils who might want to learn something that is not available as sheet music at no extra cost!

Some examples include How to Train Your Dragon, The Avengers, The Simpsons and more!

Your first lesson is completely free, and you need not carry on should you not want to. Lessons can either be conducted remotely or in-person at the student's home.

About Oliver - Oliver is a freelance musician, based in Worthing, West Sussex, he is a graduate from the University of Chichester where he studied for a Music degree. Oliver is now a brass tutor in the local area, teaching privately and in schools, he performs regularly with local groups and in the last year has begun training in instrument repair.

Oliver has many years of playing experience in a variety of different groups, styles and genres, his experiences range from symphony orchestras to brass quintets, chamber orchestras to brass bands. As a classically trained player, he has been fortunate enough to be a part of some major classical works, some of which include, Shostakovich's Symphony No.5, Berlioz "Symphonie Fantastique", Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and more.

Oliver can currently be heard performing with the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra and the Southdowns Concert Band, but is also often asked to dep or perform for other groups and projects. As well as live performance Oliver also enjoys recording and producing his own covers for brass, spanning a range of works and including his own arrangements for small ensembles. You can hear examples of Oliver’s playing on the Multimedia tab!

Oliver's arranging skills extend to his students, providing them the opportunity to play the pieces they want, at a level suitable for them. In addition to arranging, Oliver has recently taken his hand at composing for film, writing and producing the soundtrack for an ongoing animated series, with the fourth episode currently in production. Oliver is also currently training in instrument repair, having completed a foundation course a few years ago, Oliver is now refining his knowledge of repair work at a local workshop. Should your instrument develop a stuck slide or valve, receive a nasty dent or just need a good clean during the course of your learning and playing, Oliver can help sort that our for you!

Oliver holds a current DBS check on the update service (Previously CRB) and is also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
